KINGS Heath manager Sean Lawless is locked in a transfer wrangle with Sutton Coldfield Town over midfielder James Woods.

Lawless wants to bring the midfield man to the Lye Meadow tenants but his club are refusing to release him.

Woods is frustrated with a lack of opportunities at the Dr Martens Western side but Midland Comb Premier outfit Sutton Town, who run as the senior side's reserve team, hold his Combination registration and are refusing to release him.

Want-away Woods has responded by refusing to appear for the second string.

"I'm leaving it up to James to sort out," said a frustrated Kings Heath boss.

And the manager's attempt to sign Northfield Town's Keith Rostill has also stalled despite the presence of defender Jason Rostill, Keith's brother, at Heath.

The Kingsmen were set to entertain Highgate tonight (Wednesday, ko 7.30pm) at their adopted home.

Striker Mark Cartwright is fit after a hamstring injury and fellow forward Jason Phillips, who is only available for midweek matches, was in contention.

Utility player Dave Fearon was set to be available from his assistant manager's duties at Dr Martens Western strugglers Paget.

Striker Lee Brosnan has been ruled out for the visit of Southam on Saturday (ko 2.45pm) with whiplash after a car crash but is hoping to return for the Birmingham Senior Cup trip to Alliance side Stratford Town on Tuesday (ko 7.30pm).

Kings Heath will be looking to add another higher league scalp after the 4-2 opening round win over West Midlands Police.

Midfielder Colin Campbell was bidding to return tonight after six weeks out with an achilles injury.
