WE need to be wary of Wychavon's Local District Plan if it aims to "treat everyone the same irrespective of age" (Councillor Meikle, You Say, October 25).

No sheltered housing, no bus tokens, no one-off exceptions in respect of need or compassion?

The Local District Plan also allows a house in a larger garden to be classed as a "brown field site" so my local councillor tells me. Some of these houses and gardens are already disappearing under the bulldozers in order to make way for development.

Any choice of a larger garden for future retired people will soon disappear. One is reminded of what happened to Worcester in the 1960s. Once destruction occurs there is no going back.
