Roy Norton was in great form for Lickey, winning his three games backed by Martin Clarke and Steve Mallard who both won two.

Barnt Green Tennis had a hard game against Hillcrest, winning 6-4.

Captain Mark Cornish won his three games for Barnt Green with two David Stuckey wins to lead 5-4 at the double.

Green went on to win an exciting game 21-13, 19-21, 24-22.

Newton B could only field two players against Astwood Bank but put up a fight, going down 7-3 with five games going to best of three.

Garry Jackson won two for Newton before winning the doubles with Alan Hall.

Jim Conner won both his games with Dave Wood and Ken Southwell getting one each for Bank.

Studley Road Nomads had an easy win over neighbours Studley Road Terriers 9-1.

Peter Hartles was Terriers' winner beating Bernie Leech 21-15, 18-21, 21-17. Jeff Lines and Gary Steele were undefeated for Nomads.

Droitwich B beat Droitwich C 6-4 in another derby.

Simon Tibke, B team number one, won his three games, while Philip Harris and John Hughes got one each.

Luke Worniak and Dave Watson won two each for the C team and in the doubles, with the score at 5-4 to the B team, Tibke and Harris beat Wornaik and Watson 19-21, 21-12, 21-19 to ensure victory.

The game between Lickey Panthers and Barnt Green Hornets ended 5-5.
