A ROADSIDE pub is fired up for the launch tomorrow of a winter of hot entertainment for its regulars.
The Bay Horse Inn, Stourport, has installed what is believed to be the biggest handmade garden heater in the world.
The idea is to keep customers warm who would like to be out in the fresh air enjoying their drinks and snacks but also like to cluster round an open-hearth fire.
Later this year it is hoped the 12ft high and 5ft wide burner will be adapted to take a pig roast.
The giant 1-ton burner hoisted in place yesterday was made in six weeks by Wyre Forest business innovator Jay Emery whose Hartlebury workshop employs five people making reinforced versions of a burner idea from Mexico.
Mr Emery, of Dingley Dell Enterprises which has been producing "The Amazing Bushman Burner" for gardens and barbecues since May 1999, said: "I thought it would be a great idea for pubs so we made a giant one. I am applying for this one to go into the Guinness Book of Records."
