SEVERN Waste have been quiet. Have they dropped the sugar beet site?
They should drop it and move the waste by river to be incinerated on the estuary perhaps at a derelict power station.
Barges will require regular dredging and tree lopping along the river and this would reduce dramatically future flood risk.
The lesson was learnt in 1947 when river banks were cleared and dredging maintained for oil movement. We were flood-free for years.
