OVER the past week or so, Worcestershire has been subjected to traumatic weather conditions.
Most towns and villages in the county have been put under extreme pressure from the floodwaters.
On behalf of the county council, may I offer my sincere thanks and congratulations to all the services involved in helping to alleviate the extreme trauma that has been caused by these events.
These services did not only include county council operations, but the many outside bodies which came to the assistance of the community.
We are also extremely grateful to all those members of the community who still managed to get into work and/or schools, and we are proud of all the effort that everyone concerned put into ensuring that daily life continued as near as normal within the county.
At the same time, we offer our deep sympathy to those who had their properties invaded by the floodwater and the effects it had on their living conditions and the expense and disruption that has been caused.
