THE Kidderminster home of sex offender Stanley Carter was targeted after he was charged with molesting two girls, Worcester Crown Court was told.

His windows have been broken and an attempt was made to set fire to the block of flats where he lived, said his barrister, Adam Western.

Carter, 50, of Cherry Orchard, pleaded guilty to two charges of indecent assault.

He was jailed for four months and his name put on the sex offenders' register for seven years.

His victims were girls aged 13 and 14 who had gone to his flat to watch TV and have cups of tea. He admitted placing his hands on their breasts above their clothes but denied showing them blue movies, said Tony Fryer, prosecuting.

Carter had been fined in 1972 for having unlawful sex with a 15-year-old girl and had been cautioned in 1996 for indecent assault on a girl of 14.

Mr Western said the latest offences were not the worst of their type. Carter accepted he was wrong and had pleaded guilty to spare the girls giving evidence. He described Carter as a pitiful figure.
