CONCERN over the lack of youth facilities left after the abolition of the Community Works initiative in April have been voiced by Redditch councillors.
And now the council has set up a youth strategy and looks set to pump up to £100,000 into a scheme to ensure young people in the town are kept occupied.
Councillor Betty Passingham said the money could go towards providing a youth worker for the town over a period of three years.
She said: "The council is very concerned we do not let the good work done by Community Works go.
"We shall be having talks with Worcestershire County Council to see what we can do together to make sure there is something for youngsters to do.
"We will be looking a the use of buildings and ideas include setting up a multi-media film club at the Palace Theatre."
