REDDITCH councillors had the chance to inspect the area of land in Feckenham where plans for a housing development have met with concern from residents.

It was agreed councillors would do a site inspection on Saturday on the land off High Street after the decision on whether to approve the application had been adjourned on two previous occasions.

The proposals by Chase Homes would see 28 houses built on the site but only a small percentage of these would be low-cost, when villagers wanted many more.

They were also worried about the number of properties proposed, the inclusion of three- storey buildings, increased traffic and inadequate parking facilities.

Parish council chairman Doug Hickman said: "This gave councillors a chance to have a look at what they are trying to make a decision on and see what it is villagers actually want to be built on the site."

Planning committee chairman Clive Cheetham said: "This is a very big and contentious planning application and we did the right thing by inspecting the area.

"This matter will be debated at the planning meeting next Tuesday."
