Old Coventrians 0 Redditch Exiles 44

Redditch's forward driving rugby set up ruck after ruck for which the Old Covs pack had no reply.

Neil Cardy at scrum half had time to feed his back line and keep everyone involved in total rugby.

The writing was on the wall from the first try, straight running and crisp passing saw G Areth barge over, closely followed by Mark Cardy squeezing in near the corner flag.

Mark Cardy got the third when a perfectly timed pass from brother Neil left him with an easy run in from the 22.

A half charged down kick allowed Brian Carr to collect the stray ball and cross the line.

Mike Jurowski found his range with a conversion, but failed with his next attempt to convert his own try far out on the wing.

Areth broke the second half stalemate running fully 60m from a line out advantage, weaving in and out of would-be tackles, Jurowski's conversion hit the post.

Craig Harris rounded off a late move to score the eighth and final try. Captain Cresswell hit the post from the conversion leaving the final tally two out of eight converted.

Redditch Exiles visit Cannock on Saturday.
