IT will be all change at the helm of Droitwich Spa Cricket Club's three Saturday teams in 2001 following the recent annual meeting.

Ian Duggan takes charge of the Firsts to enable Paul Bryan to concentrate on his ground duties, while after a successful summer with the bat, Gareth Thomas has been appointed captain of the Seconds. Following his hard work as Third team skipper, Mark Williams is succeeded by Phil Darlison.

All the Sunday captains will remain the same next season -- Steve Walsh (Firsts), Karl Goddard (Seconds) and Simon Holliday (Thirds).

Droitwich's cricketers won't have to wait until April to return to competitive action as the club will be representing Worces-tershire in the Indoor League National Knockout competition, which gets under way in February. Spa will also be fielding three teams in this year's county indoor league.

Away from the wicket, long-standing member Les Davis has been appointed as the new club president and will be hoping to follow the sterling work of his predecessor, Bob Baylis, who steps down after many years in the role.

l After a highly successful inaugural season, the Backup Worcestershire Sunday Club Cricket League will be strengthened next season by the inclusion of other leading clubs in the county.

At their recent AGM, the league accepted applications for membership from Worcester CC, Barnards Green CC and Malvern Ramblers CC. These clubs will all field sides in both the First XI and Second XI competitions and in addition, Swindon CC have been invited to join the Second XI division.

Both Ombersley CC and Bretforton CC, who fielded only Second XI teams last season, have also entered the First XI competition, with both divisions now boasting 15 teams.

The 2001 season runs bewteen June 3 and September 9.
