WITH reference to Karen Lumley's letter ''Time to stop the excuses'' (Advertiser, October 25).

Since the naming of the Alexandra Hospital as one of the hospitals which were not reaching targets for referrals to see consultants, there seems to be a lengthening of time between appointments for those of us who are already on the consultants' list.

One of my appointments was put back a month. Another has been put back four months, from September to January.

Pensioners are being thrown off the chiropodist list and told to make their own arrangements.

From our experience during the Redditch Review, we know it is a waste of time approaching our MP.

Therefore, Mrs Lumley, if you claim you wish to represent the people of Redditch, try to find out what is at the bottom of this attack on the elderly in Redditch.
