I WAS very concerned to read (Evening News, November 9) that Mrs Glen Green, Chairman of the Worcestershire Community Health Council, enjoins us to "support the Trust management."
Why? She is, after all, supposed to be entirely impartial as a member of this agency. It is her and this agency's primary public obligation to support patient and public needs.
I have long wondered whether this one was a shade too close to the seat of power for comfort, hands being tied and so on? It seems very different from the Kidderminster Community Health Council's priorities.
Let's hope that the new Patients' Advocacy services will be authentically independent of Trusts and Health Authorities. This will require, as some GPs have already noted, an independent Complaints' Authority.
