CAN anyone please explain the ethics of a government that alleges concern for the environment but takes as much money as it possibly can in tax from sales of fuel, the main polluter, knowing we don't use less but simply pay more?
Telling people where they may or may not smoke works. Why not tell people where and when they may not drive, for example, to and from work or school? We have "out of city" supermarkets - why not "out of city" car parks?
If there was genuine concern for the environment we would have an efficient, clean and cheap national public transport system.
