Lord Brocktree -
A Tale of Redwall
by Brian Jacques
(Hutchinson, £12.99)
UNGATT Trunn has taken over Lord Stonepaw's mountain. His son Salamandastron senses Stonepaw has been killed and gathers an army to avenge his father's death.
The entourage of otters, hares, hedgehogs, shrews and squirrels battle it out to the bitter end to return a new lord to the mountain.
An exciting storyline overall, but I don't think the bad guy is bad enough, even though he does kill some of his own men if they upset him.
There are too many characters to make it very easy reading. Recommend-ed for 12 years plus.
