THE "Winter of Discontent" destroyed the last Labour government we had from within.
I fear Labour is about to commit electoral suicide again. And with regard to the fuel protesters, I suggest Labour is about to pick a fight it cannot win.
Eighty five per cent of people believe fuel tax is now too high. If we do indeed live in a democracy, then that level of public feeling should translate into a reduction in fuel tax. That surely is democratic.
The people wouldn't trust Labour to govern for almost two decades. The Tories ultimately sickened them. The result was a Labour landslide.
The net effect of that landslide has been to create an executive which doesn't listen and is felt to be arrogant.
