EVESHAM United boss Phil Mullen admits he can't wait for his side to get back in action.

United travel to Ryman League Division One side Leatherhead for their twice-postponed first round tie tonight (7.45), having not played a match in 17 days.

There is doubt about tonight's clash as well with Leatherhead's Fetcham Grove pitch still affected by waterlogging.

The sides will try again on Thursday if there is another postponement, or if there is a draw, with the winners due to visit Cinderford in the next round on December 2.

Mullen said of the delay: "We haven't kicked a ball in anger this month.

"But at least the break has enabled us to get players back to fitness. We are going there pretty close to full strength.

"Leatherhead will think themselves in a good position because of the midweek travelling we will have to do, but I am just hoping if we play like we have been away from home we will do ourselves justice, and we will certainly be looking to finish it in one go."

They hope to have midfielder Steve Taylor and top scorer Sam Bowen back, although on-loan Worcester City midfielder John Deakin is ineligible for the clash, while striker James Brown is suspended.
