MOLBY v Clough -- that's the inevitable tag which will be pinned on Kiddermin-ster Harriers' FA Cup showdown against Burton Albion at Aggborough on Satur-day.

The big-name pairing adds extra spice to a first round clash in which Burton boss Nigel Clough will be aiming to put one over his former Liverpool team-mate.

Aggborough chief Molby, however, is determined to make sure Harriers are not going to be on the wrong end of a cup upset, although he's expecting a tough match against the Dr Martens League Premier Division high-flyers who have lost only one match in all competitions so far this season.

Their days together at Anfield, however, bring back fond memories for Molby.

He said: "At the time Liverpool signed him I thought he was a super signing because of the way he plays. He's very much in a Kenny Dalglish mould. He comes off defenders, plays in that hole and has good link-up play. That's what he does well.

"Unfortunately the manager at the time, Graeme Souness, didn't think so and he cut Nigel's Liverpool career short. To this day that still baffles me a little bit.

"I've got a lot of time for the way he is doing his job at Burton. He's doing it the way he wants to. Everybody is up in arms about coaching badges and how professional everybody needs to be, but I think at the end of the day it's down to the players.

"You need to have good players, ones who want to play for you and I think he's got that. The players really enjoy playing under him and he's doing a great job."

Molby expects Paul Webb, John Durnin and Adie Smith to be fit for Saturday's clash despite not training yesterday because of injuries.

Webb and Smith have groin strains while Durnin is suffering from hamstring trouble.

Molby said: "It's the first hamstring injury he's ever had in his career and he's just a little bit wary of it. He'll continue to have treatment, but I would have thought by Thursday they will all be back in training. I'd be very surprised if they weren't ready for Saturday."

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Matthew Boswell and French utility man Parfait Medou-Otye are continuing their trial period at Aggborough and both are set to play in a reserve fixture tomorrow.

Boswell, son of former Wolves keeper Alan, has tasted first team action for Harriers in last week's JC Thompson Championship Shield victory over Kingstonian. He has previously had spells at Port Vale and Irish Leaguers Sligo.

Medou-Otye, from Scottish League side Greenock Morton, can play right back, centre half or defensive midfield and will remain on trial at Aggborough until Thursday.

Regarding Boswell, Molby said: "We have got three keepers already so we are in no rush to sign another one. I'd heard good reports about him and at 23 he's the right age."

Of Medou-Otye, the Aggborough manager commented: "He's very versatile and he's very strong and competitive."
