PERSHORE'S former mayor Councillor Elizabeth Turier died at the weekend, three weeks after resigning as mayor due to ill health.
Coun Turier was an active member of various organisations including Pershore Tourism Association and the heritage centre. She was also closely involved in the annual flower and craft show and the Chamber of Trade.
Deputy mayor Coun John Grantham will continue as acting mayor until the next full council meeting on Thursday.
Coun Turier's funeral will be held at 1.30pm on Friday in Pershore Abbey.
