NEARLY all the games in the Sterling Classic Malvern Football League were postponed due to the Council closing down pitches due to the recent floods.

The only senior fixture of the day was at Hanley Swan, where Talbot Head were defeated by a rampant Bell Inn 98.

Darren Cooke was the pick of the scorers hitting the net six times in their 12-1 victory to move Bell Inn 98 into fourth position.

In the Herefordshire F.A. Sunday Cup, LTFC 2000 progress into Round Three after their 5-2 win over Hereford League oposition Golden Banks. Lee Clueit grabbed a brace and Jason Emery, Nicky Welsh and Mike Dean were the other scorers to round off a very satisfying result. However, Fromes Hill were defeated in their tie against a strong Hearts team, again from the Hereford League. They managed to keep the score at 2-1 until the remaining 15 minutes when Hearts collected a further 5 goals to leave the final score 7-1. Shaun Taylor was on target for Fromes Hill.

In the Under 18s Youth Division the local derby between Hereford Lads Club and Tupsley Pegasus Junior was played in atrocious conditions at the Hereford Leisure Centre. Tupsley took a two goal lead within the opening 20 minutes, however the home side did come back into the game, although Tupsley ran out the eventual winners by 3 goals to 2, to give them a three point lead at the top of the table.
