AN 80-year-old grandmother who went paragliding on holiday in Cyprus said the experience had given her a lift.
"It was better than sitting back and feeling old," said Daphne Price, of Coronation Road, Malvern Link.
"I feel a lot younger for doing it. You need something occasionally to brighten your ideas up."
Mrs Price and her husband, Eddie, went on holiday with their family, including son, Steve, daughter Janet and grandsons Richard and Andrew Marriott.
"They all went paragliding and I said it looked fun so Steve said I should do it," said Mrs Price.
Wearing a life-jacket, she was strapped into a harness under the parachute before floating gently into the air, with a boat pulling her along.
"You can look around but you don't wave to anyone because you are hanging on for grim death," she said.
"It was a bit gusty that day and I was tossed about a bit but I'm very happy to have done it. I would do it again without thinking.
"It was absolutely fabulous."
The most nerve-racking bit was walking over a floating pontoon from the boat back to the harbour, when Mrs Price lost her footing.
"My husband was just about to sing Rule Britannia when I fell into the sea," she said.
Mr and Mrs Price were founder members of Riding for the Disabled and took up horse riding themselves after they retired. They now stick chiefly to walking and gardening.
