WHATEVER happened to the Bile Bean?
Some grand claims were being made for this new invention in the pages of the Malvern Gazette in 1900.
It was said the discovery by Australian scientist Charles Forde would do more good to mankind than all the gold his country had ever produced.
A natural vegetable substance it was said to help digestion and cure everything from headaches to bad breath.
Initial demand was massive, with laboratories working night and day to keep up.
