MALVERN'S Richard Strawbridge will be appearing in the final of Channel 4's Scrapheap Challenge this Sunday evening.
With his team-mates, Colonel Strawbridge, of the Royal Signals, will be flying the flag for Britain against the series' only all-American team.
The series sets engineering challenges for teams to solve using items gleaned from a London scrapheap. Col Strawbridge's team won a place in the finals by building a makeshift combine harvester and cutting the most wheat, a programme shown last Sunday.
The final has them trying to build a floating firefighting platform and using it to put out a blaze.
