MEMBERS of Wyre Forest Friends of the Earth have been contemplating flooding in Bewdley and Stourport in the run-up to the sixth world summit meeting on climate change starting in The Hague, Holland, on Monday.
Spokesman Dave Finch said the movement had urged British representatives to resist attempts by the USA and other countries to water down the original Kyoto protocol on greenhouse emissions.
Mr Finch said: "People are accepting that climate change is taking place and can only get worse. If efforts are not made to reverse this we see Stourport being in the same position as Bewdley within a few years."
