A HEREFORDSHIRE designer has scooped one of the top prizes at the British Bridal Awards.
Jan Knibbs beat tough competition from all over the country with her wedding dress based on a 1920s tea-gown design, which won her top prize in the embroidery, beadwork and appliqu section.
Winning the award is a testimony to years of hard work, Mrs Knibbs, from Whitchurch, near Ross-on-Wye, reached the semi-finals in 1993 and again in 2000.
Her work has featured in magazines and other publications since the early 1980s and her winning design will now be featured in the January issue of Brides magazine.
Also she has gained a reputation for her work with many rich and famous people. She has worked on outfits for Noel Edmunds' wife, and recently on the wedding outfit for the mother of royal nanny, Tiggy Legge-Bourke.
