Evesham 3, Worcester Norton 3
EVESHAM started positively dominating the first 15 minutes of this intense DTZ derby match.
Evesham pushed forward but failed to capitalise on their creative play. Mullett and Chatterly both squandered good opportunities early on which proved to be Evesham's best of the half.
Worcester's experience and organisation eventually began to overpower Evesham's vibrant side. Worcester took the lead after sloppy possessional play by Moss led to a short corner, which was walloped in past Nicholas.
Worcester consolidated their lead before half time by scoring a well worked goal from open play.
As in the first half Evesham started brightly totally dictating the run of play.
The introduction of Hamed proved invaluable in Evesham's comeback as Worcester carelessly conceded a penalty flick which was dutifully thrust home by Moss.
Evesham's continued pressure was rewarded when Hamed delicately slipped one between the keeper's legs.
Worcester were then forced on to the defensive due to Evesham's flowing hockey. Hamed again proved vital as he popped one over the Worcester keeper to put Evesham in the lead for the first time in the match.
Evesham held the lead until the last minute when Worcester were awarded a controversial short corner from which they equalised with the last touch of the match.
Evesham continue their DTZ campaign against Yardley this weekend.
