PERSHORE'S four men's teams have made an impressive start to their winter season campaigns, remaining undefeated after 13 matches.
Having won the WICA Stratford and District League Division One for the past two seasons, the men's A team is again leading the way after 4-0 victories against Alcester A, Evesham A and Chipping Campden A and a 2-0 lead in an unfinished match against Studley A.
The team has benefited not only from the regular pairing of county juniors Michael Crooks and Dean Swingler but also from the inclusion of Ian Johnson, a former Bucking-hamshire player.
After being relegated to Stratford League Division Two the men's B team is attempting to bounce straight back with a much-strengthened team.
The new pairing of Steve Brown and Paul Johnson is looking very solid, while Mark Warren and Simon Corbishley bring a lot of experience to the second pairing.
So far they have drawn against Littleton A, beaten Henley B and Studley B 3-1 and lead 2-1 in an unfinished match against Evesham B.
In the County League the A team is determined to gain promotion to Division Two this season after coming so close last year. After drawing the first two difficult fixtures against Bewdley B and Droitwich B the team won 4-0 at Cutnall Green in its most recent fixture.
The B team have made a promising start with victory at Ombersley B and a draw against Hartlebury B.
