SINGING sensation Elkie Brooks is the second star attraction at Kidderminster's Glades Arena this month.
The 55-year-old, who first hit the headlines with her 1975 debut album Rich Man's Woman, takes centre stage on Saturday, November 18.
Her second album, Two Days Away, included the single Pearls A Singer, which gave Elkie her first top ten single.
But by far the biggest success for Salford-born Elkie was to be her album Pearls, which reached number two in the charts, selling over 750,000 copies and staying in the charts for a staggering 63 weeks.
Glades Arena spokesman Damian Watts said: "In the constantly shifting world of entertainment, star qualities will always shine through.
"Elkie Brooks has those in abundance, together with the charisma to present them and the resilience that makes them count."
He added: "She has made 16 solo albums so it promises to be an inspiring night which won't be forgotten for a long time."
