A CARPET company has hosted a gathering of key people in business and public life anxious to promote Kidderminster and Wyre Forest as a target for outside investment.

About 30 Worcestershire Ambassadors met at Brintons, Kidderminster, on Tuesday night as part of an on-going programme to encourage business in the county.

The meeting of leaders in business, media and education was designed to update the "ambassadors" on key developments in Kidderminster and the surrounding area.

Chairman of Worcestershire County Council Peter Carter said: "This is the third event of the Worcestershire Ambassadors.

"It demonstrates how both the public and private sectors can work together for the good of the Worcestershire economy.

"By promoting the county as an excellent location to do business and to visit we aim to continue to strengthen the economic base for the future."
