QUIZ NIGHT: Tomorrow (Friday) there will be a quiz night at Little Rissington Village Hall. Entry is £3 per person, to include a light supper, and all are welcome. Proceeds to the Great Rissington Primary School.

FROG RACING: On Saturday, there will be a Frog race evening at the Royal British Legion Hall, starting at 8 pm. Tickets are £4, to include a light supper, and are available from Tim Faulkner on 01451 822060 or Jan McCarthy on 01451 810104. Proceeds in aid of Bourton Rovers Sports and Social Club.

SNOWFLAKES AND STARS: On Saturdays, until December 16, there will be an exhibition entitled A Winter Celebration - Snowflakes and Stars, from 10am until 5pm at the Cotswold Heritage Centre, Northleach. Textile artist Esther Barrett will have an array of festive patchwork and embroidery on display.

TABLE TOP SALE: On Saturday there will be a table top sale at the Royal British Legion Hall between 11am and 3pm. Refreshments available and free parking.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: At 10.45am on Sunday the Last Post will be sounded and there will be a march past at the war memorial, followed by the two minute silence and remembrance service, which will be held in the Baptist Church. The Rev Edward Tuffnell, of St Lawrence's Church, will give the address.

At 4pm on Sunday, there will be a service of prayer and thanksgiving for the bereaved at St Lawrence's Church. At 3pm on Sunday there will be a special service of remembrance at St John the Baptist, Great Rissington.

GARDENERS QUESTIONS: On Monday, BBC's Gardeners Question Time will be held at the Royal British Legion Hall. The hall will be open at 6.15pm for a 7.00 pm start. Admission is ticket only, available from Miss Bint.

WI MEETING: On Tuesday, the WI holds its monthly meeting, at 7pm, in the Victoria Hall. Speaker will be Jennie Fitzgerald on Bach flower remedies. Visitors welcome.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: On Wednesday, the North Cotswold Handicapped Club holds its Christmas bazaar, in the Royal British Legion Hall, between 10am and noon. Christmas stalls, cards, raffle and refreshments.

HISTORY MEETING: Also on Wednesday the Bourton History Group meets at 7.30pm, in the Baptist Church schoolroom. Professor Michael Oakshott will talk on Mediaeval South Cerney. All welcome.
