PARISH COUNCIL: Football Clubs: The chairman and Councillor Anderson had had a satisfactory meeting with Mr Young, secretary of Pershore Manor Rovers FC prior to the start of their matches.

The football club, it was noted, had left the facilities very clean.

New agreements had been drawn up and the drafts sent to Pershore Manor Rovers FC, Evesham Colts and the cricket team.

Revisions were to be made because of the possible clashes of matches in early May.

Agreements are to be signed at the next meeting of the parish council.

Fladbury Chequers FC had handed over keys and the outstanding debt had been paid.

Pavilion hire conditions had been sent to both football clubs and a copy of the conditions had been sent to Cornhill Insurance regarding the insurance for private parties.

Dog litter bins: Had not yet been installed.

Tennis Club refurbishment: The chairman drew to the attention of the tennis club's representative, John Foley, that several matters needed attention and Coun Mrs Randell confirmed that these problems would be rectified by the tennis club contractors.

Audit: Had been successfully completed and no points raised by the auditors.

The accounts had been posted on the notice board for 14 days as required.

Road safety signs: These temporary signs had been sited by the chairman.

Speed limit on A4538: A reply had been received from Worcestershire County Council Highways Partnership Unit to say that the matter would not be considered until the new year.

Evesham Golf Course was also in correspondence with the county council asking for the introduction of a speed limit.

District councillor Lee had received a promising letter from Wychavon.

Affordable homes in Fladbury: The chairman read to the meeting the letter received from Mr Saunders confirming that of the nine families wishing to rent property in Fladbury, only five were local to the village.

In order to assess the need, Mr Saunders suggested that a housing needs survey should be carried out in the village.

It was agreed that until a real need is determined that the matter should lie dormant.

Pavilion: There were matters still outstanding.

Archaeological dig at the recreation ground: A letter had been sent to the county archaeological service requesting a meeting.

No reply yet received.

Meeting with Wychavon District Council head of planning: The chairman, Coun Southcott, and district councillor Lee were due to attend a meeting with Mr Hegarty on Tuesday to discuss various concerns.

Paynes Lane farm traffic: Coun Mills and the chairman to visit the farm manager and request that as much traffic as possible use the Salters Lane access.

Road name signs: Station Road and Farm Street signs had still not been re-sited by Wychavon despite the chairman's efforts.

The county council had been informed by the chairman of the damage to the weight restriction sign at the A4538 junction.

Parking problems at Station Road and Farm Street corners: PC Storr confirmed that parking on the pavement and within 15 metres of a junction was illegal and undertook to investigate the problem.

Finance: Coun Stephens to advise in Five Alive magazine that debris left beside skips resulted in a cost to the parish council and that this might result in the facility being withdrawn (NB: Two skips will be in the usual places, near Pool Gardens and Rectory Green over the weekend).

The finance committee is to meet next Wednesday to prepare a draft budget.

Planning applications: There was a discussion about the circulation of current applications and it was agreed that they should continue to be dealt with as at present.

Mr and Mrs Brown's application at Old Barn, Station Road had been approved.

n Work on Pole Position had not begun and the matter was to be raised with the head of planning on Tuesday.

Lighting: The chairman asked councillors to consider the provision of further footway lights in the village. Coun Stephens was against too many lights.

n Village hall grant: Coun Southcott reported that the village hall had been granted £5,000 by Awards For All to carry out a feasibility study on ways of improving the village hall.

A questionnaire had been circulated to villagers and the results were due to be made public at a meeting on Tuesday.

n Police matters: PC Storr had met councillors and two members of the public.

Concerns were expressed at the speed of traffic through the village.

PC Storr said he only had equipment with limited scope so the clerk is to write to the Chief Constable of West Mercia Police requesting more effective equipment.

PC Storr is to arrange the county council traffic survey wires to be placed across the road and the parish council is to advise him of the preferred siting of these.

n Railway bridge: The condition of the railway bridge was raised.

The clerk to write to Railtrack requesting that it be painted in an appropriate colour.

Stamp machine: A stamp machine had been requested in the village by an elderly resident.

The chairman is to approach the florist's to see if it would sell stamps.

Vandalism: It was reported that there had been some damage by vandals near the pedestrian barrier at the end of Anchor Lane in Woodward Park.

Also children had been seen throwing stones at a light.
