BOWLS SESSION: Another session of short mat bowls will be held in the village hall, at 7.30pm tonight (Thursday).

All welcome, admission only £1, to include coffee or tea.

REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY: On Sunday, there will be an act of remembrance at the village war memorial, assembling at 10.45am.

PARISH COUNCIL: Councillors are due to meet next Monday, at 7pm, in the village hall.

Included on the agenda are items concerning the proposed car park and yellow lines, the proposed skate ramp and the children's playground and the continuing problem of the surface water on the main road opposite the farm shop.

Parishioners are allowed to speak in the 15 minute period following the end of the meeting.

HARVEST SUPPER: The annual harvest supper, which made its return last month, was a great success and raised £230 for village hall funds.

Thanks to all who contributed to a good village event.

CHURCH NOTELETS: Notelets featuring the exterior and interior of St James's Church are now on sale.

A pack of 10, with envelopes, costs £1.95 and can be obtained from church or the village shop.

HISTORY GROUP: Longborough History Group has almost sold out of its latest publication, Longborough through the Centuries.

A few copies remain at the village shop.

The group has decided that its next book will concentrate upon Longborough in the 19th and 20th centuries.

Information on the following topics would be welcomed - historical property deeds; knowledge of Longborough families who emigrated and knowledge of the Longborough Turnpike.
