I WAS most concerned to read in your October 12 issue that there are plans to consider raising council tax again.

Wyre Forest people are already having a raw deal, losing their hospitals and essential hospital services, and are having to pay extra for travel to other hospitals, further afield - especially country people - also having to pay for higher fuel bills.

On top of this, in the same edition, we read of an expert calling for fluoride in our water.

A few years back in your newspaper, I read an article in which Anthony Coombs MP for our area, said it would cost us dearly to put fluoride in our water.

According to a consultation with the people, fluoridation was backed in 1995. We weren't consulted by questionnaire, and I doubt if all Wyre Forest people were consulted.

Fluoride is a poison and if parents want it for their children, they can buy toothpaste.

There are many people in Wyre Forest who can't keep paying higher and higher bills for essential services - especially the elderly.
