CLEOBURY Mortimer Ladies cruised comfortably home by three sets in their first double header of the year at Solent in National League Division Two.

They gave an almost flawless display of serving for the first time this season which allowed the whole side to settle down.

Solent could not match the front-court firepower of Sam O'Connor or Rachel Bragg and were limited to scoring points from furious and messy front court scrambles or unforced errors.

New juniors Kerry Olding and Sam Harding both had solid games with the former serving the first ace and her team-mate settling down into her middle-hit position well, recording effective blocks and useful serves. Cleobury won 25-22, 25-23, 25-23.

Lyndsey Rankin was voted player of the match for her usual all-round presence on court.

The next home match is on Sunday and Fitzgerald Civil Engineering will be continuing their support for a fourth consecutive season.
