SOMETHING to shout about at last!

That's the message bellowing from the Victoria Ground after Bromsgrove Rovers won the delayed Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup Final from last season.

Managerless Rovers lifted the cup with a 5-3 extra time triumph over Stourport Swifts in the second leg last Tuesday, winning the final 7-6 on aggregate.

Mark Benbow turned out to be the hero on the night when he capped a sterling performance with a 113th minute penalty that proved to be the winner in a breathtaking match.

Chief executive Pat Bannister said the victory was in no small part to the influence Eric McManus has had since taking over team affairs temporarily two weeks ago.

He said: "Eric has made an immediate impact on the team and our results are starting to show that."

Bromsgrove will now be looking to build on that success by picking up valuable points in their Dr Martens League Western Division campaign, starting at home to Tiverton on Saturday.
