A SUPERB end to the season at St Augustine's School saw Goodfellas take the Leisure Leagues Premiership title and Gash win Division One.
In the Premier, Exel Recon were runners-up and at the other end of the division Inter and The Spillanes were both relegated and will be playing Division One football next season.
Gash, Harfield Pickering and Malakas all start the new season in the Premier after a tight battle, with both PSV and Malakas contesting for the final place. PSV won the battle on the day but the 7-5 scoreline was not enough to secure a Premiership place, with Malakas going up on goal difference.
ST AUGUSTINE'S School on Sunday evening was the venue for the start of a new Leisure Leagues season.
Promoted Malakas faced an experienced Exel Recon, who finished runners-up last season. Malakas didn't let this bother them and Jim Stone opened the scoring for them with a fine left foot drive. Exel equalised but as the game went on with both sides attacking, gaps at the back allowed Malakas back into the lead. The final score was Malakas 6 Exel Recon 4.
In Division One GFG got their campaign off to a flying start after an entertaining narrow 6-5 win over Rahbek. FIFA Allstars got off to a good start with a 4-1 win over Rapid Mongoose, Chris Egon bagging all four goals.
Junior Cripples faced Untouchables in their first game of the season and eventually came out 5-3 winners. GFG, playing their second game of the night, a tight affair against KMS, came out winners after being behind for most of the game, final score GFG 6 KMS 5.
Other scores included: PSV Hangover 5 Crazy Yaks 5; Inter 6 Winnorton 4; Predators 1 Ravensmere 4; Fat Boy Slimming 9 Body Harvest 2.
