BROMSGROVE took the lead through a converted Steve Gauder try after seven minutes. Following some good work from the forwards the ball was made quickly available for Tim Hall to score an unconverted try on 26 minutes.

It was all Bromsgrove now and on 34 minutes Andy Bray sliced through the Kiddy defence with a finely timed run following a quick tap penalty to score. John Mounter converted.

Kidderminster, determined to make a game of it, were rewarded with a try on 38 minutes.

From the restart Bromsgrove quickly regained the initiative with a Guader try on 43 minutes. 'Grove upped the pace and Hall scored an excellent converted try on 48 minutes.

Kidderminster missed a penalty and went further behind to a well-worked try from Bray on 54 minutes. Mounter converted. It was the forward's turn to get in on the act and Tom Lee scored an unconverted try on 71 minutes. Kiddy refused to give in and scored a deserved try on 72 minutes.

Richard Stockholm increased Grove's lead on 83 minutes with a well taken converted try.

Grove's forwards, who had an excellent day all round, now conspired to score yet another fine try following excellent work from Pitt and Hastings who provided the final inside pass for Brearley to score on 85 minutes. Mounter converted. Kiddy replied with a try on 88 minutes.

The finally try of the game, and probably the best, came from Lee who threw the ball in at the lineout which was secured by James King. The ball was popped to Lee who ran 25 metres to score an unconverted try.

An excellent day all round especially from Waddy, Mounter, Hodgetts and Stockholm who usually all play colts rugby.
