DURING Remembrance week, as we think of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country, Evening News readers may be interested in finding out more about a loved one who fought and died on a foreign field.
The War Research Society is run mainly by retired and serving police officers and ex-servicemen as a charitable hobby.
It supports a number of causes, including the Commonwealth War Graves, Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Fund and veterans.
We run coach trips to the battlefields and cemeteries of Northern Europe. Parties can visit the Somme, Ypres, Mons, Waterloo, Normandy, Arnhem, Berlin, Belsen, Soltau, Reichswald, Rheinberg, Colditz Castle, the scene of the Dambusters Raid and Buchenwald. All trips have an experienced guide and visits to requested cemeteries are made.
We welcome inquiries. Please supply a medium-sized stamped addressed envelope so that details can be forwarded.
