FORMER Worcester Rugby Club centre John Devereux has been called up for the Wales Rugby League World Cup squad.

The 34-year-old, who spent the 1998-99 season at Sixways has been included in the squad for Sunday's quarter-final against Papua New Guinea.

Devereux joined Worcester from Sale in 1998 just one season after moving to rugby union from rugby league. However, he then moved to Bridgend where he still plays.

Devereux, who also played on the wing for Worcester, is a former GB international.
