A BLOCK of flats in Droitwich Spa which has been targeted by vandals needs urgent renovation work, a councillor claims.
Charland Court, in Westlands, is blighted by vandals who have smashed windows, daubed graffiti on walls and tampered with electricity boxes.
Droitwich Spa town councillor John Cook (Lab, Droit.West) said the flats are in desperate need of renovation and security doors.
He has called on landlords, the Spa Housing Association, to take action.
Cllr Cook told the Advertiser: "There are decent and honest people living in these homes which are in a serious state of disrepair.
"The housing association must step forward and support tenants.
"Security doors are a must if people are to feel safe in their own home."
Housing association director of operations Donna Baddeley said: "We are keen to see what can be done to help.
"We have already explored applying for a neighbourhood warden but our application was rejected."
She said they are keen to work with residents. Anyone who has queries can contact the tenants' liaison officer, Lorraine Rigby, on (01905) 823122.
