CALLS are being made to see the derelict former ABC Cinema on Unicorn Hill transformed into something useful for Redditch.
The venue has been boarded up for more than 18 months.
Plans to turn it into a multiplex were submitted to Redditch Council but later withdrawn.
Councillor David Cartwright says he now wants it used for something else, despite the venue not being suitable for many things.
He said: "The problem is it's a big building which would be expensive to buy and convert.
"But I'd like to see it changed into something useful, whether it be offices, shops or something else."
A spokesman for the site said: "There is no update to give at the moment."
