KIND-hearted townsfolk have been sending their good wishes to a consultant at the Alexandra Hospital who has septicaemia.
Eye specialist Mr Bichitra Das has received more than 50 get well cards from his patients in Redditch.
And the consultant, who has worked at the hospital for seven years, has been overwhelmed by people's kindness.
He said: "I have been ill for about eight weeks and I have had so many cards from people in Redditch and I would like to say a big thank you."
Mr Das contracted septicaemia after an infection and is expected to be back at work during the second week of January.
Earlier this year the Redditch Advertiser supported the hospital's eye laser appeal along with Mr Das.
A total of £70,000 was raised to buy a new laser to treat patients with conditions such as cataracts.
