ABOUT 200 buses an hour will be going through the newly opened up underpass at the bottom of Bates Hill in the town centre, it has been announced.
The move comes as part of the temporary bus re-routing while work on rebuilding a new bus station and revamping the Kingfisher Centre takes place for up to 18 months.
Council officers and building contractors for centre owners Thornfield were out on Monday morning completing a dummy run for the buses.
Worcestershire County Council's Highways unit manager for Redditch, Jim Casey, said: "We were just making sure buses could get under the underpass successfully and turn onto Hewell Road.
"And everything went well. There will be about 200 buses an hour going through at peak time."
