FAIRFIELD travelled to Smethwick based side Thimblemill and came away with a draw after fielding a depleted side.
The game started with the youthful home side causing Villa problems with their fast direct approach.
Bu it was Villa who took the lead after 27 minutes when striker Junior McKeon turned his marker on the edge of the area and fired the ball past Phil Heaton in the home goal.
In the final 15 minutes of the first half, the home side beat stand-in keeper Ken Downing twice through Jon Miller and Mal Kelly.
In the second half both sides had numerous changes to score but poor finishing let them down. Villa finally equalised in the 90th minute when Gary Hay crossed for McKeon to head the ball back across the area for Waine Devey to score with a spectacular overhead kick.
