WORCESTERSHIRE County Darts Squad were top of their division at the start of their match against Avon, but talent and commitment were not enough to pull off the win. Vital missed doubles, mostly on the final legs, saw them lose 14-22.

The Women's B lost 2-4 with victories for Pam Jones and a worthy match award winner Lesley Phillips, 125,121 who won 3-1 with an average of 15.61.

The Men's B was a close 5-7 with wins for Nigel Vernall, 180, 122, 7x100 (24.32) who came back from 2-0 to turn the game in his favour with a 115gs in the third going on to win in 18/21 and 21 darts.

Darren Willetts, 2x140, 125, (24.25) won 3-1. Simon Webb 2x140, 139, 3x100 (22.10). Pete Clifford, 140, 6x100, 115gs, (23.47) won 3-2.

Consistent darts from March award winner Ray Bishop, 2x140, 135, 100, winning in straight legs for an average of 25.05.

The Women's A lost 2-4 and were unlucky not to have reversed the scoreline. The ever consistent Beaty Powell, 140, 120, 3x100, took the match award for a 3-1 win and an average of 19.33. Waiting for her own special delivery almost any time, Tracey Bishop, 140, 121, 100, (15.05) was the other winner, chalking up a 3-1 win.

Steve Watton, 180, 3x140, 125, 2x100 (27.28) won 3-1 in 19/18 & 17, Kevin James, 180, 125, 6x100 (23.31) won 3-2. Dave Honey, 180, 140, 5x100 (23.99) won 3-1.

Graham Perry, 180, 3x140, 120, 4x100, (25.24) won 3-2. The Men's A lost 5-7.

Tony Randell, took his second match award in a row with great throwing, 180, 140, 121, 5x100, 100gs, to win 3-0 in 16/14 & 17 darts to clock a 31.98 average.

Worcestershire were unlucky to lose their match, good scoring from all the players including a 180 from Lesley Wall, and good clock outs from Mandy McEntee, 120, Mark Bayliss, 103 and Tom White, 100.
