KIDDERMINSTER Harriers manager Jan Molby is forced to make changes for tonight's J. C. Thompson Championship Shield clash against Kingstonian at Aggborough (7.45).

Definitely ruled out are Paul Webb, Mark Shail, John Durnin and Steve Pope.

Midfielder Webb has picked up a groin strain in training, while defender Shail is recovering from a knock on the head sustained during last Saturday's 1-1 Nationwide League Division Three draw with rivals Cheltenham Town at Aggborough.

Molby said: "Mark's still a little bit groggy and the doctor has had a look at him and he's advised me not to play him."

Striker Durnin has tweaked a hamstring during training and transfer-listed defender Pope is suffering from influenza.

The casualties mean that young midfielder Ben Davies looks set for a recall to the squad, while front-runners Ian Foster and Tony Bird could well find themselves in the starting line-up.

Both were on the substitutes' bench on Saturday with Foster likely to get a full 90 minutes action tonight in a bid to step up his match fitness following a lengthy lay-off with hamstring trouble.

The fixture is an annual affair between the previous season's Nationwide Conference champions and FA Umbo Trophy winners -- and is one Molby would dearly like to win.

He said: "We like to win any game we play in, but there will be one or two minor changes because of the injuries we have picked up.

"It's the kind of game that can go either way for us. We can go out with no real pressure on us, enjoy it and get some confidence back, or it could be another match which weights heavily on our shoulders if we don't get our game going.

"But I hope it's going to be positive. We are certainly looking for it to be that way and we'd very much like to win it.

"If we did win, it would be the third trophy for me since I've joined the club, so that would be nice. But the big thing is we certainly don't want to pick up any more injuries now."

On their way to winning the Nationwide Conference title by nine points last season Kidderminster beat Kingstonian twice.

The clash at Aggborough ended in a 2-0 victory with goals from Dean Bennett and Mark Druce, while the match at Kingstonian resulted in a 1-0 triumph with Foster scoring the all-important goal.

Last term Kingstonian finished fifth in the table, but this season are finding the going a lot more difficult.

They are currently second from bottom with only four wins in 17 outings -- two at home and two away.
