A PENSIONER'S battle to stay in a house in the face of eviction threats from her church landlords has ended in defeat.
Margaret Harley, 67, of School House, Arley saw her last ditch effort to have the eviction order suspended fail when a county court judge ruled in favour of the Worcester Diocesan Board.
The board wanted to repossess the house to create extra space for the expansion of Arley C of E First School.
Mrs Harley, a tenant for 14 years under an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement, has been found sheltered accommodation in Kidderminster.
She said: "The judge said to me that, instead of writing letters to people I should have been busy packing."
