I SHARE Mrs L Pugh's sentiments over the lenient way our justice and welfare system seems to treat convicted paedophiles (You Say, October 13).
Keeping convicted paedophiles on a national register is no guarantee against re-offending. We live in a very sexually promiscuous society, where some youngsters are becoming sexually active at an earlier age and where certain sections of society keep on lobbying for a lower age of consent.
It is up to caring and responsible adults to defend innocent children, here and abroad, by objecting to this corrupt practice at every quarter, from ever becoming the norm.
MR L SPITERI,
Worcester.
