LONG-term knee injury victim Thomas Skovbjerg is determined to stop being Kidderminster Harriers' forgotten man.

The Danish winger is stepping up his recovery programme after being sidelined since March 11 with cruciate ligament damage.

Harriers boss Jan Molby said: "Thomas is doing fine. He's doing everything we are asking of him.

"But he's still looking at another 20 per cent to get fit and that's the hardest bit. It's weeks rather than days in terms of progress.

"It's difficult to put a time span on when he'll be back, but maybe he'll be playing for the reserves in a couple of months. But then you are looking at a number of reserve games before you get anywhere near what's required at this level.

"I would have thought it's well into the new year before he's going to be anywhere near. He's been very good mentally about it and he's switched on to what he needs to do."

Molby said the Harriers midfielder regularly trained with the first team.

"It's just a case of getting more movement and getting more fitness," the manager added. "But the progress at the moment is very slow which it normally is. That has to be expected.

"What's been massive for Thomas is the fact we are now full-time and I think that if we had still been in the Conference part-time it would have felt like forever.

"But he's in here every day. There is always somebody here and there are training session more or less very day, so there's a lot for him to get his teeth into."
