COLWALL 2nds travelled to Gloucester for their fourth league hockey match against Gloucester 3rds.
GLOUCESTER 3RDS 4, COLWALL 2NDS 2
Within minutes the game was in full pace with Gloucester advancing forward with strong attacking play, Colwall marked tight but Gloucester scored.
Colwall retaliated with Emily Lloyd pressurising Gloucester's defence to equalise.
Colwall continued to attack, winning several penalty corners but were unable to take the lead then just before half time Gemma Murchington had a one-on-one with the away team's goalie and scored.
The second half began with Colwall's defence under great pressure as Gloucester pushed hard for a goal, even with solid defence from Heidi Barton and excellent saves from the Colwall goalie, Gloucester's strength overwhelmed Colwall and the score was leveled at 2-2.
A disheartened Colwall tried to reform but the home team came back even harder and scored twice within minutes. With a valiant final surge Colwall were unable to alter the final score.
Tomorrow (Saturday) Colwall 2nds play host to Bourton Vale at Ledbury, 2pm start.
